Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for a Technical Director to join our team for a construction project.
-Project: Photovoltaic Plant
-Estimated duration of the position: 2years - In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.
-Main Responsibilities:
-Technical Management:
- Define the overall technical strategy of the project, ensuring alignment with commercial, budgetary, and schedule objectives.
- Approve conceptual and detailed designs developed by engineering teams.
- Evaluate and select the most suitable technologies for the project (solar panels, inverters, trackers, storage systems, etc.).
- Resolve critical technical issues during project development.
-Supervision of Engineering Teams:
- Coordinate the various technical teams (civil, electrical, mechanical, environmental) involved in the design and execution of the project.
- Ensure proper task and resource allocation within the engineering team.
- Promote continuous training and professional development of the technical team.
-Design and Optimization Management:
- Oversee initial technical studies (topographical, geotechnical, climatic, etc.) and ensure their correct integration into designs.
- Approve the optimal layout and configuration of photovoltaic modules, inverters, and other system components.
- Ensure the design optimizes energy production, reduces costs, and minimizes environmental impact.
-Technical Review and Approval:
- Validate plans, technical specifications, and engineering documents before submission to the client or authorities.
- Supervise compliance with local and international regulations (IEC, NEC, etc.) and industry standards.
- Review and approve any technical changes during the design or construction stages.
-Coordination with Other Areas:
- Work closely with the bidding department to ensure technical proposals are viable and competitive.
- Collaborate with the procurement team in selecting suppliers and contractors, ensuring the technical quality of equipment and materials.
- Coordinate with the construction team to ensure the correct implementation of the design during the project.
-Quality and Risk Management:
- Implement quality assurance and control systems in the design and execution of the project.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks that could impact the budget, schedule, or project performance.
- Ensure the delivery of accurate and detailed technical reports on project progress.
-Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Incorporate new technologies and sustainable practices that improve the efficiency and competitiveness of the project.
- Implement advanced simulation, design, and analysis tools to optimize technical processes.
-Technical Representation:
Represent the technical team in meetings with clients, partners, and authorities.
- Participate in technical audits, design reviews, and site inspection visits.
-Working hours: Monday to Friday: 8 am - 5 pm (1 hour break)
-Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical management of photovoltaic projects or similar.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of local and international regulations (IEC, NEC, etc.).
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and simulation tools (PVsyst or similar).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to represent the technical team in client and partner meetings.
